On June 15th in Rome, Ksenia received Carlotta Award for her contribution and leadership in wheat research. The award was presented by the President of the Italian Academy of Science, Emilia Chiancone, and a granddaughter of Carlotta Strampelli, countess Parisani (1868-1926, a pioneer of wide crosses in wheat). From July 1st 2018, the Krasileva Lab moves to Berkeley where Ksenia will be an Assistant Professor in the Department of Plant and Microbial Biology. The group members who are also moving are Erin Baggs – to become UC Berkeley graduate student, and Andrew Deatker as our best Assistant Specialist and inter-continental Rust Chaser.
