Janina Tamborski

postdoc

Dr Tamborski completed her PhD in 2018 at the Sainsbury Laboratory, Norwich UK. There she worked with Prof. Silke Robatzek to study PAMP-triggered stomatal closure in Arabdidopsis. Before that, she earned an MSc and BSc degrees from RWTH Aachen, Germany, where she worked with Prof. Uwe Conrath and Prof. Ralph Panstruga. Her theses focussed on plant defense priming and calcium signaling in plants after chitin perception. Currently she is optimizing monocot transient assays to work directly in crops as well as utilizing established model species to study NLR signaling. She is working on engineering NLRs to optimize effector recognition and to develop new binding specificities.
