My curiosity about plants stems from a placement project that focused on characterising how P nodoruminteracts with wheat to cause necrosis. Since then, I have been keen on how plants interact with their surroundings to increase their fitness. Particularly, it is intriguing to study plant resistance genes that evolve to combat evolving effectors. I am currently focusing on screening for effector-resistance gene interactions in a plant model organism.
